£75.00£70.00
Differentiated instruction will become a mandatory trend in the education of the future.
This book covers fundamental principles for creating an instructional program, differentiation according to Bloom's taxonomy, and presents nine curriculum differentiation models from prominent researchers in the field of gifted education: Williams Model (Williams, 1993), Curriculum Compacting Model (Reis and Renzulli, 1978), Maker Curriculum Differentiation Strategies (Maker, 1982), Kaplan Curriculum Differentiation Strategies (1973, 1993), Integrated Curriculum Model (VanTassel-Baska and Wood, 2009), Parallel Curriculum Model (Tomlinson et al., 2002), Multiple Menu Model (Renzulli, 1988), EPTS Curriculum Model (Sak, 2009), and EPGBU Curriculum Model (Tortop, 2013, 2015). The book also includes 18 differentiation strategies and techniques applicable to gifted students.
Each chapter begins with a 'hypothetical case study' to facilitate understanding of the topic, provides suggestions for teaching at the end of each chapter, and includes unit evaluation questions with three levels of difficulty. Additionally, the appendices contain a glossary related to differentiation for gifted students and necessary instructional documents.
Hasan Said Tortop, PhD, has spent approximately seven years teaching gifted students in both school and university settings through his own educational program. He holds two doctoral degrees and is the founding editor of two journals on gifted education. He has led numerous projects related to gifted education and has published many books and articles on the subject.
Today's education for the gifted is tomorrow's education for the norm.
